I love the True Sons. They are easily my favorite faction in the game, and in my opinion, the only ones, aside from the Division, who have the city's best interests at heart (even if their methods often go too far).
However, I feel the need to point out that the True Sons have their structure completely wrong. Now, what do I mean by that?
I mean, that, in the bounties, it goes like this:
Corps or Company (Normal or Hard)
Battalion (Challenging)
Platoon (Heroic)
Now, before I go on, let me make something clear. I am not one of those annoying jerks who rant for thirty minutes on twitter about the tiniest inaccuracies in games. I can overlook a few things, especially in a game that has so much meticulous detail put into every inch of the map like the Division 2.
That being said, the True Sons are organized completely incorrectly. If they are trying to model themselves on an actual military, which is what they seem to be doing, it should be organized like the IRL US Army. (This model is adopted by militaries worldwide, but I'm using the US as an example for obvious reasons.)
Fireteam: 4 soldiers, led by a Staff Sgt. Probably the ones we run into in the open world on patrol, so no problem there, really.
Squad: 4-10 soldiers, led by a Sgt or Staff Sgt. Again, no real problem there.
Platoon: 16-40 soldiers, organized into two squads, and led by a Lieutenant. Here's where we get into the meat of the problem. In the game, Platoons are the largest bounties. I don't know how many True Sons you face in a heroic bounty, so comment below, but it certainly feels more like than there should be. Also, their commander should be a Lieutenant, not three Sergeants. Sure, we killed most of their high-ranking officers in the campaign, but just because you lose a couple lieutenants doesn't mean no one else can fill their roles. Have the True Sons never heard of promotion?
Company: 100-200 soldiers, 3-5 platoons, led by a Captain. Again, I probably don't need to say that Hard bounties don't include nearly 100-200 enemies each. I'm not saying they should, honestly, but why are Companies the second lowest, when they'd comprise at least 3 of what are supposed to be heroic bounties. Also, my previous point still stands on the lack of promotions. You'll see a theme of that as we go on.
Battalion: 4-6 companies (600 to 900 soldiers, ballpark estimates), led by a Lt. Colonel. I think you can imagine that if Heroic bounties don't include 600 enemies, challenging doesn't. Again, I'm not saying they should. I'd be a nightmare for even a full squad to take on 900 soldiers at once, let alone trying to solo it, my god.
Finally, Corps: 25 to 50 thousand soldiers, led by a General. Normal bounties? Corps? I think you can see the problem here.
To wrap this up, let me repeat myself in bold text. I am not saying they should change the game to include such ungodly numbers of enemies. If you don't fight 25,000 soldiers if you played every True Sons mission on Heroic in a row, you shouldn't have to fight them on any level of a bounty.
I know to a lot of people; this is a non-issue. I'm not gonna stop playing the game or throw a tantrum to the devs over this one error, as glaring as it is. But I love everything military. It's one of my biggest passions, as my family has a very long history serving in military conflicts, as far back as the American Civil War (I phrased it like that since some of you may live outside the US. We call it just The Civil War here, but I didn't want to cause confusion).
So, this did kinda bother me, is all I'm saying, and I felt the need to post this. I'm not advocating any sort of game change here, whether gameplay or UI related, at least in regard to this issue. I'll keep playing, because I love the Division franchise, and especially this game.
I just felt the need to post this, so anyone who's willing to read my long-winded rant might get something out of it.
