The 586 Magnum is a sidearm featured in Tom Clancy's The Division, based on the Smith & Wesson Model 586 Magnum revolver.

Real World Version

The Smith & Wesson Model 586, is a six shot double-action revolver chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge.

It is essentially the same weapon as the S&W Model 686, but the 586 has a blued steel construction, while the 686 has a stainless steel construction. Also, since the 586 was directed more to law enforcement, most have shorter barrels than the 686.

Unlike magazine fed weaponry, there is no physical way to load in a seventh bullet (despite what people may be saying is possible in the new division).

how revolvers work is there is a cylinder with a set amount of slots for ammo, there are revolvers that have 22, in this case there are 6 slots (Chambers, if you will.) in order for a seventh or eighth bullet to be loaded in would require some extensive modifications. in other words, the amount is fixed to how ever many the gun and cylinder was designed to hold.
