Agent Espinoza was an active field agent of the Strategic Homeland Division. He was selected for The Division and following his training, he was deployed to Washington, D.C.. where he would operate with Agent Alani Kelso and other Division agents along with the Joint Task Force. He would eventually earn a reputation for being an agent that "left a mess" wherever he went.
He survived the first 7 months of the Green Poison Outbreak following his activation, and was assigned to assault the Jefferson Trade Center to reactivate the ISAC Substation stored underneath the building. He fought through multiple squads of Hyenas before eventually being captured by Coyote, one of the Hyena's leaders. When The Sheriff reactivated the ISAC Substation with the help of Agent Kelso, Coyote broadcasted on the agent's channel, informing Kelso that she had captured Espinoza. Coyote claimed that if The Sheriff backed off and left the Trade Center, then Agent Espinoza would be released back to The Division. Kelso did not believe Coyote and urged The Sheriff to keep pushing through the Hyenas. However, after The Sheriff continued to move through the Trade Center, Coyote took Agent Espinoza to the top of a balcony, before shooting him with her sidearm point blank, causing him to fall 3 stories to the ground floor, where he was killed on impact, all in front of The Sheriff. The Sheriff would pursue Coyote on Kelso's orders and avenged Agent Espinoza. A team of Division agents would later return to claim Espinoza's body for a proper burial.
