Bruce is a Strategic Homeland Division agent deployed to Washington, D.C.. He is a protagonist of Tom Clancy's The Division: Remission.
Biography[]
John Sanders grew up in Yorktown, Virginia, and became childhood friends with his classmates Mike and John at twelve years old. The three boys often spent time at Potomac Park, where they decided to build a treehouse together; however, their progress was slow until they met Janis McGee, who helped them steal tools and supplies. She later introduced them to her younger brother, David.
Together, they helped Janis protect David from their abusive father, Dick. One day, however, the police found both Dick and David dead in their home, and Janis gone. Before vanishing, she sent the boys a cryptic farewell message via beeper, promising to contact them soon.
As years passed, the three friends drifted apart, although they always met once a year to fix the treehouse and commemorate Janis. Bruce threw himself into athletics and sports, and was eventually contacted by the Strategic Homeland Division, whereupon he passed the selection trials and became an active-duty agent. He was previously married, but divorced after failing to conceive a child.
After the Green Poison hit Washington, D.C., Bruce joined the Theater Settlement alongside five other Division agents, including Katy.
Tom Clancy's The Division: Remission[]
When Mike and his neighbors were abducted by the Hyenas and taken to the Lincoln Memorial for a public execution, he used a beeper to message Bruce and John for help. Bruce and his fellow agents arrived in time to rescue Mike and the other hostages, and escorted them to the Theater Settlement. That night, he and Katy slept together, and he told her about his past with Mike, John, and Janis.
A week later, Bruce received a message from Janis's beeper, asking to meet at their childhood treehouse. He rushed to Potomac Park at night, but was attacked inside the treehouse and knocked unconscious. He awakened the next day and returned to the Theater, only to find it ransacked by Hyenas, with Mike gone and Katy in critical condition. Before dying, Katy told Bruce that Mike had tipped off the Hyenas to help them plan their attack; afterwards, Bruce discovered that Katy had been pregnant with his child.
After a violent tantrum, Bruce left the Theater and visited Mike's ransacked house, collecting the IDs of the Hyenas that John had killed. With the help of Odessa Sawyer, he tracked down one of their families at the Stanton Park Refugee Camp, who identified Jaw as the Hyenas' leader. When Bruce announced his plan to face the Hyenas alone, Odessa revealed that she had already enlisted the help of the other Division agents. With their help, Bruce led an assault on the Hyenas' stronghold and successfully captured Jaw and the other Hyenas.
Inside an abandoned clinic, Bruce discovered John standing over Mike's body, and shot him. John told Bruce that Janis was dead; Mike confessed that he had fatally stabbed her by accident during a fight with Dick, then impersonated her final message and buried her body beneath their treehouse. Upon hearing explosions outside, Mike had begged to be killed rather than face Bruce, and John stabbed him to death. He also revealed that he lured Bruce away from the Theater to protect him from the Hyenas' attack. With his dying breath, he asked to be buried next to Janis.
Afterwards, Bruce buried John and Mike beside Janis under the treehouse and erected crosses on their graves, hanging their childhood beepers on each one. He then hung his own beeper on Janis's cross. As he reminisced over them, his Smart Watch received an alert, and he made his way back towards the city.
