Brutus is a High-End Marksman Rifle in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.
It is a Named variant of the M700 Carbon, featuring the Talent Perfectly Behind You. It was added to the game in Title Update 20.
This weapon can be obtained from enemies, vendors, weapon chests, Sealed Caches, and any area/mission with Marksman Rifles as targeted loot.
Usage[]
Brutus is most comparable to the Exotic Marksman Rifle Mantis, which also encourages agents to maintain a low profile for a hefty damage bonus. The issue is that Perfectly Behind You provides no aid in doing so - whereas Mantis's Talent refreshes the Decoy Skill with every headshot kill and color-codes alert enemies in its scoped view, determining an enemy's intentions with this weapon is a guessing game - up until the moment they start shooting.
Still, the strategy remains much the same: try to stick with allies that can divert enemies' attention, and use Skill proxies like the Decoy to draw fire away from a sniper's nest. Those who prefer more aggressive gameplay can instead use Brutus as an ambush tool, sniping a high-threat target from afar before switching to their main weapon to begin the firefight in earnest.
