Classified Assignments are an activity introduced into Tom Clancy's The Division 2 in Update 1.0.6. They are miniature missions that contain additional audio logs and clues as to how Washington, D.C. fell before the events of The Division 2. The first set of 2 classified assignments were added in Title Update 3 and the second set of 2 classified were added in Title Update 5. 4 more are planned to be added as part of Ubisoft's Year 1 Content Roadmap. These Assignments are only available to Year 1 Pass holders.

Mechanics Edit

Each Assignment works in a similar manner in terms of unlocking them, as well as their overall structure.

Upon logging in after the update, players with the Year 1 Pass are alerted to a new activity type found on the map; Classified Assignments. These missions are shown on the map as blue compass symbols upon discovering them.

Players, once they have the assignment available on the map, need to make their way to the place the assignment is located. Once there, players must locate the entrance for the assignment. The entrance will have a AR overlay on top of the door, similar to the overlay found in front of the entrance to main missions. Once the door is located, the mission becomes available to play, as well as unlocking matchmaking and a fast travel point.

The layout of the missions and enemy factions differ depending on the mission. However, each one has similarities. There are intel pieces (such as audio logs) located in each mission. There is also a backpack charm located in each one. Once the mission is completed, players are prompted to exit, but they may choose to stay and explore instead, which is encouraged, as the mission temporarily locks players out of it once players leave the mission by interacting with the exit doors.
