Containers are lootable objects within the game world.

Container Types[]

  • Trinket containers are the player's source of "civilian" items such as shoes, screwdrivers, pens, sodas, toys, and other such similar items - the player can also get food, water, or components (Control Point donations) from them.
  • The tall backpacks and rolling suitcases have a chance to contain cosmetic clothing items for the players character to wear.
  • There are additional containers not pictured above - there's refrigerators, dressers, gym lockers, and many others - it is advised to keep the players eyes open for them.
  • These containers respawn quickly, somewhere between 2-4 hours.
Crafting Components

  • Crafting Component containers are exactly what it sounds like - these are where the player can get Titanium, Steel, Carbon Fiber, and many other items needed for crafting.
  • These containers respawn quickly, somewhere between 2-4 hours.
Armor & Weapon Boxes

  • Armor and weapon boxes contain 1 armor or weapon item, with the item type matching the box type.
  • The "special" weapon boxes contain multiple items - usually a weapon, a gear mod, and a cosmetic paint - they look very similar to the normal weapon boxes, with the exception that they're bright green as opposed to the darker "military green" of the standard weapon box. In the dark, it's virtually impossible to tell them apart until the player has opened it and gotten extra goodies.
  • There's a limited number of cosmetic paints available in "open world" play, so a player may no longer get one after opening enough of the special crates - the player will still get the extra skill/gear mod though.
  • These containers respawn once a day.
Control Point Supplies

  • Control Point supply containers are the players primary source of Control Point donation supplies - food, water, and components. Each container will usually have 20-30 of each resource, and they respawn every 12 hours.
  • The player will find them dotted singly around the world, usually where there's evidence of people (camper trailers, tents, and in abandoned stores), but the player can also find them in bulk in designated collection areas - there will be 4-6 of all the same container, and the area will be marked on the players map with a highlight and an icon specifying which kind of resource can be found there.
Restock Boxes

  • These containers are scattered liberally throughout main and side mission areas.
  • The Ammo restock box is infinitely reusable, and will completely refill all of the players standard ammo.
  • The Grenade and Armor Kit boxes are single-use, each containing a single grenade or armor kit. If the players teammates loot any of these boxes, it will leave the player a lootable grenade, armor kit, or ammo pile, so the player needn't worry about his/her teammates opening them first.
Key Boxes

Key Boxes Key Box (opened)
  • Key boxes are where the player will find the somewhat elusive faction cache keys - there is only one kind of key box, but it can contain any of the faction keys, and will sometimes have more than one key.
  • The player can find them in mission locations sometimes, but the most common source of them is easily the underground sewer areas - with sufficient exploration, it's possible to find between three to seven keys in one underground area.
  • These boxes are INCREDIBLY easy to walk right past - having the detection buff makes them stand out more, but even with the buff active it's easy to miss one.
  • Key boxes respawn daily.
Special Containers

Division Cache Territory Control
Parachute crate

Parachute Crate Supply Drop Crate
  • Division Caches are located exclusively inside the Supply Room of a claimed Control Point - they contain two equippable items (and sometimes a cosmetic paint), there is only one per room, and they only respawn when the player unlocks a new World Tier or retakes a hostile control point in WT4 (once daily). Make sure to claim the cache fairly soon after claiming the Control Point, as they do not remain lootable after the player logs out and back in.
  • Territory Control caches are special loot boxes that are rewarded for clearing the Territory Control world events. They require a key to unlock, and the final enemy killed (or sometimes the toughest) will drop the key.
  • Parachute crates are "hidden" crates that are up in the air - usually hanging from trees, cranes, and buildings. They contain the same type of things as the "special weapon crate" listed above - a weapon, mod, and cosmetic paint. They respawn once a day.
  • Supply Drop crates are the objective of the Supply Drop world events - they will contain a single equippable item, usually of fairly high quality as compared to the player's level. Enemies can and will open these crates to steal their contents if you don't prevent them from doing so.
