Crafting requires two main components: Blueprints and Materials. Agents discover Blueprints through a multitude of activities such as playing weekly projects, defeating control points or purchasing directly from vendors.
Scavenging is a great source for crafting materials, but so are control points, living world activities, projects and boss loot. Deconstructing undesired equipment is also an effective way to acquire base materials.
When levelling through the campaign, Crafting is a great tool to discover new playstyles and acquire higher Quality items before they drop naturally in the open world, or fill out Equipment slots that are lagging behind in power. Additionally, this is the main way for Agents to get their hands on Weapon Mods.
Once reaching the endgame, Agents can unlock even more Blueprints which allow them to craft specific brand items, random gear mods, random skill mods, or exotics.
Unlock Crafting Station[]
To unlock Crafting Station you'll have to complete the Grand Washington Hotel story mission you receive from the Theater Settlement and unlock a Safe House in Downtown East. Doing that will let you recruit Inaya al-Khaliq who'll relocate to the White House and becomes the crafting person.
Blueprints[]
The Crafting Station at the Base of Operations allows you to craft a range of weapons and gear.
To craft something, you’ll need its blueprint. You’ll receive some blueprints as you upgrade your Crafting Station, but most are rewards for completing missions. Main missions often grant blueprints, but side missions and Bounties are the most lucrative. You can craft from blueprints for gear and weapons over again once they’re unlocked, but their power will be determined by the level of your crafting station.
You can craft the following types of items:
- Body Armor
- Backpack
- Masks
- Gloves
- Knee Pads
- Holsters
- Weapon
- Skill Mods
Collecting Resources[]
Once you have the blueprint, you’ll need to collect a variety of resources. You can find resources spread throughout the world and by deconstructing some items. You can also get them by taking on certain enemy factions who have a higher chance of dropping certain materials:
Receiver Components — Salvaged by deconstructing weapons
Protective Fabric — Salvaged by deconstructing gear pieces
Steel — Often dropped by True Sons
Ceramics — Often dropped by Outcasts
Polycarbonate — Often dropped by Hyenas
Carbon Fiber — Often dropped by True Sons
Electronics — Often dropped by Hyenas
Titanium — Often dropped by Outcasts
Printer Filament — Salvaged by deconstructing mods
There are also several High-End resources that are rare and manufacturer-specific. You can get these by deconstructing other High-End gear made by the same manufacturer.
