“ It was supposed to be an exercise. Turns out... we weren't prepared. - Faye Lau”
Dark Winter is a High-End Submachine Gun in Tom Clancy's The Division 2. It is a Named variant of the Vector SBR .45 ACP, featuring the Talent Perfect Killer and unique Gems Skin.
This weapon can only be extracted from Dark Zones, purchased from Dark Zone Vendors using DZ Resources, purchased from the Countdown Requisitions Station using Countdown Requisition Tokens, or obtained from Conflict/Legacy/Named Item Caches.
Replicas of this weapon can be crafted using its Blueprint, which can only be obtained from Reconstructed Caches purchased with NSA Tech from NSA Stations.
Usage[]
Perfect Killer nearly doubles Dark Winter's Critical Hit Damage, and can pay dividends if an agent is able to swiftly chain kills together. Unlike a Talent like Close & Personal, however, there is no guaranteed way to trigger Perfect Killer, as a weapon's Critical Hit Chance is capped at a cumulative 60.0% from all sources.
Even in skilled hands, an unlucky streak of non-critical kills (or supporting fire from a well-meaning squadmate) can swiftly sap Dark Winter's momentum. This element of chance may be unacceptable for those agents seeking consistent performance when in close quarters.

Trivia[]
- This item’s name and flavor text are references to Operation Dark Winter, a real-life exercise conducted in 2001 by the U.S. government to simulate the effects of a covert smallpox attack on the United States. The operation first inspired the premise of Tom Clancy's The Division.
