“ Excellence in combat is just one of my talents, but also the only thing I've always wanted to do. This is why I'm in the B.T.S.U. and how I'll save this country from its downfall. - Elijah Sumner”
Elijah Sumner was a Black Tusk Specialist Unit operative in the Coney Island area of New York and a direct subordinate to Dolores Jones. He was previously a member of Bardon Schaeffer's original unit.
Biography[]
Elijah Sumner enlisted in the United States Army in his early twenties, serving in the infantry division. During his tour, he quickly went up the ranks and became a strategy advisor. Some time later, he got recruited into Black Tusk where he became well known for his analytical combat approach.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2[]
Sumner was part of Bardon Schaeffer's original squad and helped in sabotaging the SHD Network, causing the blackout. While assessing the situation on D.C., he briefed his boss about the Hyenas. He recommended supplying the Hyenas, as he believed they'll be a thorn in everyone's side, but not dangerous enough to be a problem in the long-term.
After the failures from Milla "Wyvern" Radek and Petrus Brenner, Sumner was transferred to a unit led by Dolores Jones in New York, becoming her direct subordinate.
Coney Island[]
Elijah Sumner was at Coney Island to guard and oversee the transfer of Russian Virologist, Vitaly Tchernenko. When the Division received intel about Tchernenko's whereabouts, they sent a surveillance drone to Coney Island and confirmed the virologist, though Sumner saw the drone and shot it down.
Division agents went to Coney Island to retrieve Tchernenko. With the assistance of Cindy McAllister, they fought their way throughout the Ballpark against Black Tusk forces. Despite constant demands to stop the agents, they managed to make their way to Tchernenko, who was held in quarantine at the stadium.
Sumner made his way and fought the agents. Despite his armor and equipment, the agents gunned him down, rescuing Tchernenko and extracting him.
Personality[]
Elijah Sumner was known to be easy going in his time at Schaeffer's original unit, as he liked to have humor.
However, the losses and failures that Black Tusk went through has hardened him, making him more determined to fulfill his part in helping Black Tusk save his country. Sumner showed himself to be ill-tempered, as he threatened to kill one of his subordinates during his clash with the Division in Coney Island, and doesn't tolerate any failure.
He also had an unpleasant relationship with his boss, Dolores Jones, as she often loses her temper and gets foul-mouthed with him.
Abilities[]
Sumner is a unique Black Tusk Assault armed with a Tactical Mk16 and Flashbang Grenades. He also wears a ballistic helmet/visor that protects his head from immediate damage.
