“ Felix Sokolov, Call-Sign Kestrel. Specialized in medical support and escort duties. Medical-degree from a top-tier school. His family business gave him enough clout to make the Division ranks, and he's made the most of it. Black Tusk jumped at the chance to recruit him. ”
Felix Alexeyevich Sokolov is one of the four lieutenants of Faye Lau in the End of Watch season and the younger half-brother of Natalya Sokolova, founder and CEO of Black Tusk.
Biography[]
Felix Sokolov was the youngest child and only son of his late father, Russian businessman: Alexey Sokolov. His older half-sister, Natalya Sokolova, was left behind in Russia to run the family business (Sokolov Concern) when her father, Felix and his American mother moved to the U.S. Sokolov's father forced him to enlist with the Navy. While deployed, his mother was convicted of murdering his father. When his tour was over, he studied medicine at Johns Hopkins University, before being recruited by Strategic Homeland Division and later, Black Tusk.
History[]
Sokolov was born in the U.S, therefore he wasn't close to his half-sister, Natalya. However, the death of his father, Alexey, both siblings got in contact and managed to establish a familial relationship. In fact, Natalya used her wealth to pay for Felix's tuition in medicine at John Hopkins University.
Sokolov was called in at some point by Faye Lau, with the latter asking him why he left the Strategic Homeland Division and joined Black Tusk, him answering that it was because of family. Lau said she understands, and mentions her sister, Heather Lau's death by the Rikers, with Felix commenting that this type of problem would never happen with Black Tusk, because his sister could get them anything they wanted, revealing to Lau that he is the brother of Natalya Sokolova, CEO of Black Tusk.
Feeling a bit frustrated, Felix asked Lau if she was also interested in the other Rogues' families, to which she replied that only when necessary. Faye then asked how close Felix was to Natalya, the former revealing that they weren't that close and explaining that Natalya grew up in Russia, with Lau getting suspicious about it, saying that their father's death and Natalya creating the Black Tusk happened at about the same time. Felix then got angry at Faye, claiming that his sister loved him and that she risked her own men to save his life and protect him, which, in his vision, was a clear act of love.
At some point during their operation, Kestrel contacted Bridgette Douglas to ask her if she knew who their target was, with the latter saying that she understands Faye's choice to not reveal who the target was, with the former replying that he suspected agent Alani Kelso was the target.
Later, Faye Lau would contact Kestrel and give him a new task: to escort a VIP. He got a bit nervous, asking if she couldn't leave that assignment to a lower grunt, to which she replies by saying that the VIP in-question is way too important for a rookie to protect.
Sokolov was tracked down and killed by a Division agent, in an effort to locate Lau.
Legacy[]
Not long after his death, Mackenzie Meret called up Natalya to send her condolences. Natalya's casual attitude and dismissing her half-brother's death as a calculated risk led to Mack accuse Nat if she had the Division kill her brother, only for Sokolova to brush the subject.
Abilities[]
In-game, Kestrel was a Rogue Agent armed with an M1A CQB, ACS-12, Defender Drones, Mender Seeker-Mines and Shock Grenades.
- Despite never being seen using these in-game, Kestrel could be seen holding an SRS A1 in his character artwork, as well as a SPAS-12 in the in-game briefing cutscene.
