Field Proficiency is a gameplay mechanism in The Division and The Division 2. After a player reaches level 30 on their character, XP earned is then credited towards earning a Field Proficiency cache. These caches give out 2 random items, and they can be Gear Set, High-End items or Exotic items, but the scores of these items are linked to the players World Tier (i.e. World Tier 1 gives 163 GS, Tier 2 183 GS, and so on).
Other Proficiencies[]
Alongside the Field Proficiency cache, there also exist other proficiency ranks. These Ranks are linked to 2 of the 3 DLC game modes; Underground and PvP (Last Stand and Skirmish).
Underground Proficiency is earned after Rank 40. These caches include 2 items, which can be Gear Sets (possibly Classified Gear), High-End weapons/gear, or, rarely, Exotic gear/weapons. It also includes 1 Directive Intel.
PvP Proficiency (origninally Last Stand Rank) is earned after rank 99 in both the Skirmish and Last Stand game modes. These proficiency caches are the same as a normal PvP cache.
The Division 2[]
Field Proficiency returns in The Division 2. Every level after 30 earns a cache, which always contains 1 High-End Armor piece, and 1 High-End weapon, as well as 14-23 cypher key fragments.
