“ Ugh... The Manager's got a cat. I hate those goddamn things. But cats don't like dogs. So, guess what -- I'll make one. A big ol' hound. Then we'll see how many lives this cat's got left. ”
HOUND is the codename of an advanced Warhound Grenadier developed by Black Tusk.
It's the first boss encountered in Potomac Event Center: The Manager.
History[]
HOUND was developed out of a spiteful idea that BTSU Operative, Keiko Nakama, came up with due to her hatred of The Manager's cat (Kitty Fluffy Kiss Kiss), and wanted to use against her.
However, she found HOUND would have more use in the event that someone could try and breach the supply depot established in the Potomac Event Center.
Encounter then destruction[]
As the Division pushed through to recover the Manager, they were stalled by HOUND who pushed out of its crate and employed its armament against the agents, including its grenade and mortar launchers, as well as applying shock if they try to come nearby, and regenerating itself.
But with familiarity from their previous encounters against advanced Warhounds (Lucy and Buddy, Sparkle, Chimera, and Violet), the agents managed to destroy HOUND, putting yet another advanced Warhound in their killcount.
Gameplay[]
HOUND is similar to the Warhound Grenadier archetype, but with a few differences. First, it has no external weakpoint that can be exploited like with the Grenadier, Minigun, and Marksman archetypes. Second, it launches powerful mortars where it can apply heavy damage against players if they stand in the mortars area of effect. Third, it can apply shock status effect within a player's proximity and healing itself after sustaining heavy damage. But thankfully, unlike Chimera, that regeneration only happens once.
Focused fire, good positioning, and taking care of the hostiles assisting HOUND are key to defeating it. This is especially more emphasized on Master Difficulty, as a lot of those reinforcements are at Elite-level and can dish out a lot of damage.
