Kavita Chandrasekhar is the head researcher at the University of Michigan's laboratories in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a supporting character in Tom Clancy's The Division: Broken Dawn.

Biography[]

At the University of Michigan, Professor Chandrasekhar worked remotely alongside Bill Kelleher's team at Sequent Biotech Group (SBGx) in New York City on the development of broad-spectrum antivirals (BSAVs), a new vaccine design that would be able to encompass multiple mutations of a particular virus.

Once it became clear that the Green Poison had become a pandemic, the Joint Task Force and Strategic Homeland Division took steps to protect the university labs. Without access to un-mutated samples of the virus, Chandrasekhar and her staff could only observe the work of Dr. Jessica Kandel in New York and offer insights periodically. During their experiments, they often referred to Bill Kelleher's research, among others; due to communication failures following Black Friday, Chandrasekhar was not aware of Kelleher's murder.

Using Kandel's vaccine and SBGx's research, her staff were able to synthesize a batch of BSAVs tailored to combat the Green Poison, and sent them to a scientific advisor of President Ellis in Washington, D.C. for mass production.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2[]

At some point, the professor was contacted by Donovan Tower regarding the development status of the BSAV, which he and his men urgently needed. Chandrasekhar declined to reveal anything, citing security concerns, and politely encouraged Tower to contact the DCD.

Tom Clancy's The Division: Broken Dawn[]

Over five months after the outbreak, April Kelleher arrived at University of Michigan, accompanied by two Strategic Homeland Division agents, Aurelio Diaz and Ike Ronson. They met Dr. Kavita Chandrasekhar in her office and informed her of Bill's death, who gave her condolences; with the Division agents' permission, she told April about the BSAVs and her husband's part in their creation. Using a code phrase, Ronson signaled a Black Tusk strike team to move in and seize the BSAVs, only to learn they were no longer at the labs.

Shortly after, Diaz knocked Ronson unconscious and bound him to a chair with extension cords. He revealed Ronson's betrayal to the group, took the double agent's Smart Watch, and told Chandrasekhar to gather her research and evacuate immediately. Chandrasekhar swiftly left to inform her staff, and Diaz escaped with Kelleher as Black Tusk forces raided the lab.

In Cleveland, Diaz theorized that neither Chandrasekhar nor her staff would survive the day, making it imperative to inform The Division in Washington about the BSAVs. Her fate thereafter is unknown.
