Lieutenant Mackenzie Chang is one of Captain Lewis's four lieutenants featured in the Hidden Alliance season.
Biography[]
Mackenzie Chang is a third generation Chinese American born and raised in the D.C. Metro area. His father was navy, his mother’s father was navy, and he tried to follow in their footsteps. He enlisted at 18 but did not take well to the water and the navy. He was put on a ground transportation team where he felt his time, skill and energy were being wasted. He broke his arm and three ribs in a bar fight the year before the end of his contract and his father and grandfather pulled some strings to get him an honorable discharge.
He returned to civilian life and got a job as a security guard at a museum on the Mall. Being a museum security guard was not as exciting as it sound and he missed regular combat trials. He tried hunting and airsoft to get that adrenal rush, and eventually joined the National Guard, hoping to someday get back into action.
When the National Guard was called up to secure the Mall against peaceful protesters, Mackenzie saw an opportunity to use his knowledge from his Mall security days to set up a perimeter.
General Anderson was impressed by his initiative and took him under his wing in logistics until Ridgeway’s death, and he gave Chang his own unit, but denied him the promotion to Captain until he could prove himself a worthy leader. Chang is determined to prove himself worthy, and earn that promotion, as well as the admiration of General Anderson.
History[]
After the death of former Division commander Faye Lau at Camp White Oak, Lieutenant Chang was sent by Captain Lewis to Washington, D.C. as part of a specialized team with a yet-to-be known objective. While there, Chang helped True Sons in re-establishing their stockpiles with his background experience.
Division agents would intercept and destabilize Chang's activities in the Foggy Bottom area. They manage to find the Lieutenant held up in Potomac Event Center and took the fight to him. Despite his equipment and prowess, Lieutenant Chang was eliminated, dealing a heavy blow to the True Sons infrastructure.
Abilities[]
Lieutenant Chang is a unique True Sons Heavy Weapons armed with a Military M60 E4 Light Machine Gun, Bleed ammo, Shock Grenades, Cleaner Bomber Drones, and Hunters EMP Drones.

- Chang seemed to have some level of familiarity with Bardon Schaeffer when he spoke to him after Dusk's death, this is probably due to the former alliance between the True Sons and the BTSU.
- Like the 3 other sub-targets from Season 9, the EMP Drone that appears during Chang's boss fight was presumably deployed by either Jack Bonney or his Recruiter Hunter, however, since the drone actually helps him fight the player, it can be considered part of his Abilities kit.
