The M9 is a Pistol in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

The Military M9 and Officer's M9 A1 variants of this weapon can be obtained from enemies, vendors, weapon chests, Sealed Caches, and any area/mission with Pistols as targeted loot.

The Exotic variant Mosquito can be obtained from enemies, Exotic Caches, and Mission rewards. If the Blueprint for the the Exotic Pistol Liberty has been acquired, it can also be obtained from any area/mission with Pistols as targeted loot.

Replicas of the Military M9 can be crafted using its BlueprintBlueprint, which is available by default.

History[]

The M9 is Tom Clancy's The Division 2's rendition of the Beretta 92FS, referred to in-game by its U.S. Army designation. Its use of 9×19mm Parabellum rounds allows for 'double-stacked' magazines, each fitting over twice as many bullets as the venerable M1911, which it would eventually replace as the U.S. military's standard-issue sidearm in 1985,

In 2006, Beretta issued a modified version for the Marine Corps, the M9A1, which features an underbarrel attachment rail that is reflected in the Officer's M9 A1 variant.

Usage[]

The M9 is the jack-of-all-trades of Sidearms that offers decent handling and a generous magazine size, effectively eliminating emergency reloads mid-firefight and allowing for extensive blind-firing without wasting ammunition.

The handgun does suffer at range, however - beyond lacking an Optics slot, each round produces stiff diagonal recoil that can throw off the gun's aim when fired rapidly. Agents should take a moment to let their crosshairs settle between shots against distant targets.
