The MP7 is a Submachine Gun in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.
All variants of this weapon can be obtained from enemies, vendors, weapon chests, Sealed Caches, and any area/mission with Submachine Guns as targeted loot.
Replicas of the Named variant Swap Chain can be crafted using its Blueprint, which can only be obtained from Reconstructed Caches purchased with NSA Tech from NSA Stations.
History[]
The MP7 was first produced by Heckler & Koch in 2001, as a successor to its venerable MP5 submachine gun. In response to the rising ubiquity of personal body armor that could stop pistol-caliber rounds from weapons such as the MP5, the MP7 fires exclusive 4.6x30mm armor-piercing ammunition, which offered low recoil and higher capacity thanks to its smaller diameter compared to conventional pistol bullets.
Usage[]
Like in the original Tom Clancy's The Division, the MP7 compensates for its low damage with a high rate of fire, giving it excellent burst-damage potential at close range. Its mild vertical recoil is easily counteracted by slowly dragging one's view downwards while firing.
However, the weapon is arguably crippled by its unique inability to mount any kind of Magazine attachment, leaving it with a paltry 40-round capacity that cannot sustain its blistering fire rate. Without a suitable Talent to compensate, mid-combat reloads will be a constant nuisance and make it nearly impossible to down Elite or Named enemies in a single magazine unless almost every round fired scores a critical hit or headshot.
Variants[]
MP7[]
The MP7 is fitted with a telescoping stock and built-in extended magazine. It is used by Veteran/Elite Outcast Supports and Cleaner Throwers.
