The Madison Square Garden is located in Pennsylvania Plaza in New York City.
Following the outbreak of the deadly Dollar Flu (also known as the Green Poison), the Madison Square Garden has been repurposed by the Catastrophic Emergency Response Agency (CERA) and the Joint Task Force (JTF) into a makeshift field hospital to treat the overwhelming number of infected and injured civilians. However, with the city descending into chaos and the infrastructure collapsing, the site soon fell into disrepair and was overrun by hostile factions.
Rioters, a faction of desperate and violent civilians, have overrun the facility, taking CERA staff, including the critical virologist Dr. Jessica Kandel, hostage.
Dr. Kandel is a key virologist, as she is one of the few with the expertise to develop a cure or vaccine for the Green Poison.
The Division agents were sent in to secure the Madison Square Garden and rescue Dr. Jessica Kandel.
