Camouflage is about more than just blending in. You ever heard the term 'aggressive mimicry'? Anyone can hide and wait for the perfect kill, but why wait when you can seduce?
- Sid "Maneater" Madison

Mantis is an Exotic Marksman Rifle in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

It is an Exotic variant of the Covert SRS, featuring the Talent In Plain Sight. It was added to the game in Title Update 10.

This weapon can be obtained from enemies, weapon chests, Exotic Caches, and any area/mission with Marksman Rifles as targeted loot.

Usage[]

Mantis’s potential is most apparent from ambush, where In Plain Sight’s damage bonus can eliminate virtually any oblivious enemy. Viewing a target through the scope reveals their awareness state - enemies unaware or focused elsewhere (and thus vulnerable to In Plain Sight) will show a red reticle around their heads, while the reticles of enemies targeting you will glow orange. This can help determine who to aim at next, as well as highlighting enemy heads through cover.

Once combat begins, losing the enemy’s focus is a bit trickier. This is made easy in a group setting, where aggressive squadmates can act as natural distractions. For solo snipers, a Skill proxy like a Turret, Drone or - as prescribed by the weapon itself - Decoy will draw enemy fire for the few precious moments it takes to line up a headshot kill. Try to toss the Decoy behind low obstacles, exposing the hologram but not the emitter itself, and at a lateral distance to avoid catching stray shots or explosives aimed at it.

Managing hostile aggression adds an extra layer of complexity to sniping, but helps Mantis achieve one-shot kills even without maximum investment in Marksman Rifle or Headshot Damage.
