“ This should really be mounted on a chopper. But if you can take it, by all means go for it. ”
The Minigun is a Signature Weapon used by the Gunner in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.
Overview[]
The M134 is a minigun of U.S. origin. It is based on the Gatling principle and uses a six barrel rotary assembly. Ammunition is fed linkless or by belts that travel through a delinking device. The gun is externally powered and has a short spin up time. When operated manually the gun is mounted on a single arm that allows the weapon to swivel horizontally and vertically.
The M134 fires the standard 7.62x51mm NATO round at a rate of fire that ranges between 300 and 6000 rounds per minute.
In-game[]
The Minigun is a unique signature weapon that is acquired by either completing the five stages of the Gunner Field Research, or by unlocking it via purchasing the Year 1 Pass. Upon unlocking the specialization, players can activate it in the Base of Operations.
It a weapon that is used to suppress enemies while being able to tank the damage with its talent. Upon drawing the weapon, players can no longer enter cover or sprint. The weapon takes a considerable time to fire when hip-firing, due to the weapon needing to spool up its rotary barrels. This can be alleviated by aiming the weapon, which removes the delay in firing, but slows down movement.
Appearance[]
The minigun contains six barrels which can contract, making it fairly compact for carrying, while being fairly quick to deploy. There are two handles while handling the weapon. The rear one being an inverted grip with a red trigger, while the front one being used to deploy and hold the weapon.
On the left side of the body is Thermoelectric Cooler, which spins the barrels in order to cool the barrels to prevent overheating. There are yellow and black wires connecting it to the back of the weapon. To the right and slightly below the main body is the cylindrical auto feeding ammo drum, containing 7.62mm rounds in a belt.
