Paradise Lost is an incursion added into Tom Clancy's The Division 2 in Title Update 19. In this incursion, the Meret Estate settlement is getting overrun by the Cleaners and Division agents are sent to repel the attack.

It challenges players to navigate through four intense encounters, two of which are boss fights. The mission unfolds in a narrative-rich environment on the outskirts of the capital city, Washington D.C., in the Meret Estate, where Agents must face the Cleaners, a paramilitary group that has taken control of the area and is threatening the tentative stability of the post-pandemic world.

Plot[]

When the Meret Estate is attacked by the Cleaners, Division agents responded to the distress call by the heiress, Mackenzie Meret, asking for help.

The agents reach the estate's perimeter, dealing with the turrets as well as a number of Cleaners. Afterward, they reach the Courtyard to find one of the Cleaners "Dragon" Oil Tankers. The Cleaners would respond in force and attempt to destroy the tanker, though the agents would defend it against waves of hostiles, including Moss, a high-ranking Cleaner commander.

As they enter the building, Mackenzie Meret uses the estate's security system to guide Division agents as they find their way to the bar. In the bar, they face against Wright, a high-ranking Cleaner commander whose entire body is covered in purple-colored flames. Using the sprinkler system in the bar, the agents managed to put a dent in Wright, defeating him and the Cleaners supporting him.

The agents would make their way to the lawn, where they face the "Lovebirds", a Cleaner couple who uses SHD Tech to support themselves in their fight. In spite of that, the agents managed to defeat the Lovebirds, and put an end to the Cleaners assault. In the aftermath, Mackenzie Meret and some of her settlement survivors were sent to Haven to recover from the whole ordeal.

The comms found across the estate by the Division agents unravels a few mysteries behind the attack. It reveals the relationship between Mackenzie Meret and Natalaya Sokolova, how the Lovebirds got access to SHD Tech, and the reason for Cleaners attacking the settlement in the first place.
