Rifles are a new category of weapons only found in Tom Clancy's The Division 2. They are mid to long-range, semi-automatic guns that consist of good accuracy. Rifles are used for their accuracy, range, and rate of fire, which is slightly faster than semi-automatic Marksman Rifles. Rifles are much like the Marksman Rifle, but having lower damage, while usually having a bigger magazine size and a faster rate of fire in order to make up for it.
In-Game[]
Rifles are mid to long-range, semi-automatic guns. Compared to the Assault Rifle, it is semi-automatic, instead of automatic, and does more damage per shot. Compared to the Marksman Rifle, it has a faster rate of fire and a bigger magazine size, but has a large difference in damage, being a lot lower than Marksman Rifles.
Rifles have an in-class bonus increasing Critical Hit Damage.
Weapon Types[]
Semi-Automatic[]
Semi-automatics require agents to pull the trigger each time they want to shoot. Semi-automatics have a long range, a decent output and high damage, but their magazines usually only hold 10 to 20 rounds of ammunition.
Most Rifles are semi-automatics. In the first game, most semi-automatic rifles are classed as Marksman Rifle The Urban MDR is a semi-automatic weapon classed as an Exotic Assault Rifle.
Burst[]
Burst-fire weapons fire off three shots at a time each time the trigger is pulled. Burst-fire weapons have a high output and a larger magazine (which usually holds 30 rounds max). Burst-fire weapons have weaker damage, highest recoil, and a shorter range, making them more akin to CQC weapons.
In the first game, most burst-fire rifles are classed as Assault Rifles.
Lever-Action[]
Lever-action rifles are a type of rifle where a lever must be pulled on the weapon in order to load the next round into the barrel. Lever-actions have the highest damage but have high recoil, the smallest magazine size and the slowest reload speed. Lever-actions must be reloaded bullet by bullet.
The only lever-action rifle in the game is the 1886.
