Real World Version Edit
The Benelli M Series Super 90 Shotguns are a series of 12 gauge shotguns manufactured by Benelli Armi S.P.A., Italy. First imported to the United States under H&K, a German arms manufacturer as the Model 512 Auto Shotgun. The Super 90 refers to the Benelli line of shotguns having rotating bolt and inertia-operation, including M1, M2, M3 and M4 shotguns.
M1 and M2 are both inertia-operated self-loading shotguns, the line consisting of hunting, sporting and tactical models. M3 allows operator to toggle between self-loading and pump-action. The only departure from inertia-operation is the M4 which keeps the same exterior design but introduced a new proprietary gas operated system, the "Auto-regulating gas-operated (ARGO)" system. M4 was developed for and accepted by U.S. military with designation M1014.
