History[]
The TKB-408 was a Soviet assault rifle created in 1946 by Russian designer German A. Korobov. It is an early specimen of a bullpup rifle design, with a tilting bolt system found in many Soviet weapons and special 30-round magazines with metal hooks that fit into a latch on its pistol grip.
This was one of several designs submitted as a candidate to become the standard rifle of the Soviets' Red Army. During trials, the TKB-408 exhibited poor accuracy and durability, and ultimately lost out to the now-famous AK-47. Consequently, the weapon never left its prototype phase.
Usage[]
In terms of performance, the TKB-408 is essentially another variant of the AK-M, with a slightly faster reload and nearly comparable damage at the cost of poor handling, short effective range, and even stronger recoil - to the point of visually rocking the screen with every round fired.
This can be partially tamed thanks to its full array of mod slots, but like the AK-M, it should be reserved for close-range engagements against exposed enemies, mowing them down with blunt firepower over any kind of marksmanship.
