The Houndsman is an Agent of the Hunter Program. Not much is known about him, save for the fact that the Mini-Warhounds encountered by Division agents across Washington, D.C serve under his will.
He's a special Named Enemy and a Bounty Target for the 2025 Halloween Event.
Gameplay/Abilities[]
The Houndsman isn't encountered normally in the open world, as he can only be confronted by a special bounty, which has a chance of dropping after eliminating a Mini-Warhound in the Open World. The bounty drop chance increases any time an agent defeats a Mini-Warhound without getting the "Bounty Added" notification
During his boss fight, The Houndsman is a unique Hunter armed with a Tactical AUG A3P Submachine Gun, ACS-12 Shotgun, SHD Oxidizer Chem Launcher, SHD Jammer Pulse and Rikers Nail Bomb Grenades. Additionally, he is uniquely immune to all kinds of Status Effects, only being vulnerable to weapon damage. He is also guarded by a set of unique named Mini-Warhound with special defensive abilities, as listed below:
- "Hugo" has increased health;
- "Harrison" can deploy small blasts of Purple Flame, leaving a trail on the ground which deals high damage;
- "Heather" can deploy a smokescreen and turn invisible for a short period of time;
- "Harvey" has increased movement speed;
- "Heidi" can temporarily become immune to all damage by deploying an electronic shield similar to Chimera's.
Rewards[]
Since The Houndsman is part of the 2025 Halloween Event, completing the Bounty in Week 1 rewards The Houndsman Cache and Event Cache. Week 2 rewards Halloween 25 Cache and Event Cache.
The Houndsman Cache rewards The Houndsman Outfit set, the Houndsman Hound Backpack Trophy, "Bat" VFX Drone Mod, and Quickstep Named Tactical M1911. The "Bat" VFX Drone Mod has a drop chance, so farming the Houndsman Cache may be necessary. Or if you don't want to be held back by RNG, waiting till Week 2 to farm for the Halloween 25 Cache would be the better option.
For the outfit set, each Houndsman Cache rewards the following: Mask, Gloves, Backpack, and Uniform.
It must be kept in mind that save for the Mask, The Houndsman Outfit set will only be available to attain for free in Week 1, so it is recommended to do the bounties, preferably through Random Bounty Matchmaking if you do not wish to spend money to purchase the set as it will be available on the store by Week 2.
Trivia[]
- Interestingly enough, the Houndsman Mask has the two eyeholes concealed by tape, which implies The Houndsman relies on some form of tech with his mask or his Mini-Warhounds to help him during a combat engagement.
- This is further evidenced in the game files related to the Houndsman's outift and mask, in which he's labeled as "Blind Hunter".
